While returning from viewing Christmas lights at Sandy Point State Park, the Ellises discover a strange creature in the Chesapeake Bay. Their amazement grows when they learn Marco the Manatee swam 900 miles from Florida to the Bay to visit friends. The special holiday meal Marco shares with Sienna the Sturgeon, Solomon the Shark, and Emberlyn the Eel, is cut short by falling water temperatures that threaten Marco’s survival and force him to swim to warmer waters.
Children 6-10 will love this story which is based on the true events of a manatee that swam from Florida to Maryland four times between 1994 and 2011.
